A 1941 Lincoln cent, graded Proof 67 red was sold for $10,512 by Heritage Auctions at the Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo. Several other U.S. coins, world coins and paper money were sold for a total of $20 million. A very rare 1795 Flowing Hair, Reeded Edge cent sold for $192,000.

In 1941, over 20,000 Proof Lincoln cents were produced. Many Proof 65 red examples have a market value of $100. These coins had soft mirrored copper surfaces which were volatile. Mint 66 examples are hard and Proof 67 red examples are even rarer. Only eight such coins have been recorded by PCGS so far. Cameo or Deep Cameo examples are not known. The offered coin is the finest of all.

The offered coin was fully struck using highly polished dies to produce watery, copper-orange fields with high-level of preservation. There are small marks on the reverse, apart from which, the coin has no other problems.
